Hāpaitia te Reo — Raise Your Voice
Whānau Voice Mahi Project

The Whānau Voice Mahi Project is about amplifying the voices of whānau across Aotearoa, ensuring their perspectives guide the future of their communities. As part of this kaupapa, we are introducing a new way to engage—a digital forum that enables whānau to contribute their ideas and whakaaro in a flexible, accessible way.

This approach replaces the traditional in-person town hall meetings, making it easier for everyone to participate, regardless of location or schedule.

Join the Kōrero Online

We encourage whānau to hāpaitia te reo — raise your voice and share their thoughts using our digital engagement platform. Through this forum, whānau can:

  • Discuss ideas and priorities at their own pace,
  • Connect and collaborate with others, and
  • Provide valuable feedback to shape the outcomes of this mahi.

The digital forum on RoheOra.nz is designed to make engagement more inclusive and accessible, ensuring that every voice can be heard in this evolving process.

Te Takohanga — Responsibility

The digital forum is managed by the Whānau Voice Project team, who are responsible for moderating discussions and ensuring a respectful, constructive space for kōrero.

Individual comments posted on the platform reflect the views of their contributors and not necessarily those of the project team or any associated organizations. Moderation will ensure all contributions align with the kaupapa and meet platform guidelines.

Why the Digital Forum?

Moving to a digital forum helps us connect with more whānau, reduce barriers to participation, and make engagement more flexible. You can take part from the comfort of your home, at a time that suits you, and revisit discussions as they evolve.

This modern approach to community engagement is part of ensuring whānau voices remain central to shaping future frameworks and opportunities.
